DESCRIPTION
Blue jasper is a form of microcrystalline quartz — an opaque, fine-grained stone formed over millions of years from silica-rich sediment and volcanic ash. Its distinctive blue-grey colouring comes from trace minerals locked within the stone during formation, resulting in the soft, smoky hues and natural white veining you see here.
This bowl has been carved directly from a single piece of blue jasper, its uneven, raw-edged rim left entirely as nature intended. No two pieces of jasper are ever the same, and this bowl is a testament to that — a wholly unique object shaped by geological time and finished by hand.
