Our Story
Barnbury is a considered home and lifestyle brand, founded by designers Jonathan Sellwood and Jonathan Parkin.
From our showrooms in Chelsea and the Cotswolds, we curate furniture, lighting, home accessories, vintage pieces, art, and jewellery — brought together with an emphasis on quality, character, and enduring appeal. We are authorised stockists of Trudon and Dr. Vranjes home fragrances.
Alongside our permanent collections, we host regularly changing art exhibitions featuring vintage originals and mid-century lithographs by Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, and others.
Barnbury also offers a comprehensive interior design service for both residential and commercial spaces — from full projects to bespoke soft furnishings — shaped by the same thoughtful, hands-on approach.
Interior designer
Jonathan Sellwood was the founder and creative force behind Thirty Two, later recognised by Mr & Mrs Smith as one of the world’s top five boutique hotels.
Prior to this, he led one of London’s most exclusive fabric houses, developing a deep expertise in textiles, craftsmanship, and bespoke soft furnishings — a foundation that continues to inform his approach to interior design.
Recent projects include the restoration of a grand Cotswold manor and a private apartment in Belgravia, each shaped with careful attention to proportion, material, and enduring detail.
Jonathan Sellwood
Interior Designer
Jonathan Parkin founded his interior design studio in London in 2002, following an early career at the prestigious Design Centre Chelsea Harbour.
In 2006, he relocated to Cheltenham, where he partnered with Jonathan Sellwood to create Thirty Two — a boutique hotel with an in-house design studio, known for its layered, characterful interiors.
His recent projects include the interiors of a luxury Cotswold hotel, a private London townhouse, and a contemporary countryside manor — each reflecting a considered balance of texture, proportion, and refined detail.
