DESCRIPTION
A late 19th century wooden pitara from India. Showing signs of age and use, but still highly decorative. If needed the central locks could still be used with padlocks. Traditionally these were used to store and carry clothes and belongings whilst travelling. The additional iron bands added extra strength and security.
