Hand-made, custom-built furniture and an art gallery could make Winchcombe even more of a destination for shoppers.
That’s the hope of Jonathan Sellwood and his partner Jonathan Parkin.
The pair have been working for months to get the old Sun Inn building, in North Street, ready to be a high-class furniture store and gallery.
Mr Sellwood said: “The business is called Barnbury and we’re going to be opening in mid-May, although we’re not exactly sure which day.
“We’ll be selling furniture, lighting, wallpaper, basically everything for the interior.
“People will be able to order custom-made furniture, hand -made by craftsmen at our workshop in Gloucestershire. Wallpaper will be from Osborne and Little and Zoffany.”
The two Jonathans ran Hotel 32 in Imperial Square in Cheltenham from 2006 until last year when they decided to sell it and do something else.
They took on the old Sun Inn which had been empty and shuttered, at the end of 2013 and have been working to renovate the building since.
